Privacy policy.

How the local HyperBook application, product website and package repository handle information.

Version 1.0 Effective 5 October 2026

1. Privacy at a glance

HyperBook is designed as a private, local application. It requires no account, contains no advertising or behavioural analytics, and does not upload your audiobooks, covers, listening progress, shelves, tags, bookmarks or notes to HyperCon. Core playback and library features work offline.

2. Who is responsible

The data controller for the HyperBook website, package repository and related correspondence is HyperCon Ltd., 167–169 Great Portland Street, Fifth Floor, London, W1W 5PF, United Kingdom, Company No. 13485343. You can contact us at app@hypercon.tech.

3. Information kept on your device

The desktop application stores the selected library path, audiobook and chapter metadata, cached cover information, listening progress, tags, shelves, favourites, bookmarks, notes and application preferences locally on your device.

A rotating local diagnostic log may contain file paths and information about library scans, playback and errors. HyperCon does not receive this log automatically. You may choose to send it when asking for support.

4. Website and package repository data

When you visit app.hypercon.tech or download software from packages.hypercon.tech, standard server logs may record your IP address, date and time, requested resource, browser or download client, response status and transferred data. We also keep an aggregate download count that is not connected to a HyperBook account or used to profile you.

5. Why we process this information

Technical connection data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a reliable service, protecting it from abuse and diagnosing faults. Correspondence is processed to answer your request, take steps before a contract, perform a contract or pursue our legitimate interest in supporting users. We may also process information when required by law.

6. Cookies and tracking

The public portal uses no advertising, profiling or third-party analytics cookies. Strictly necessary cookies or equivalent mechanisms may be used for security, forms and authenticated administration.

7. Service providers and international processing

We use infrastructure and security providers, including Google Cloud, to operate the portal and package repository. Our primary infrastructure is located in a European Google Cloud region. Providers may use approved subprocessors in other countries. Where required, international transfers are protected by an adequacy decision, appropriate contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.

We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers or data brokers. We disclose information to public authorities only where the law requires it.

8. Retention

We keep identifiable server logs only for as long as reasonably necessary for security, reliability and incident investigation, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Correspondence is retained only while needed to handle the matter, meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Aggregate, anonymous download totals may be kept indefinitely. Data stored by the application remains on your device until you remove it.

9. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights to information, access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent. Contact app@hypercon.tech to exercise a right. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or to the supervisory authority in your country.

10. Automated decisions, children and future services

We do not use HyperBook data for automated decisions or profiling. HyperBook is not designed as a service that collects children’s data.

Future optional services such as synchronisation, encrypted backup or family profiles will receive clear, updated privacy information before they are launched. Features that send data will require a deliberate user action.

11. Changes and contact

We will publish the current policy with its effective date and explain material changes appropriately. Privacy questions can be sent to app@hypercon.tech.
